Understanding DNA Test Results
Common Questions
How does a paternity test work?
A paternity test identifies the genetic relationship between a man and a child. DNA Worldwide conduct paternity tests by using a mouth swab to quickly and painlessly collect a DNA sample. These samples of DNA are then examined, and will determine if the alleged father and child have enough matching DNA to have a biological relationship. The testing procedure compares DNA markers and this comparison can determine how closely related they are.
How accurate are paternity tests?
DNA Worldwide's peace of mind paternity test is 100% accurate; the most accurate DNA test in the UK. We test 21-68 different DNA markers, most standard paternity tests only examine 16 different markers, the more markers tested, the more accurate the result. The test is also run twice to ensure its accuracy.
